So SAFE Health Project, Brentford Chiswick & Isleworth PCT
Website, Comic & Interactive Online Soap Opera
Working with the SAFE Health project over the course of 3 years on their website project with a brand agency. A focus group of young people from various schools & colleges were identified and worked with us to design characters used in the Flash animations on the website. These were designed in association with a professional animator and brand agency with whom we worked closely with in order to make the best use of the website, as well as exploring different ways of engaging the target audience of young people. This included creating a comic which was distributed to every school and most youth centres in the borough.
Tower Hamlets Youth & Community Service
Multimedia Editorial newspaper project
Working with Youth Participation team in Tower Hamlets, assisting with outreach sessions on social housing estates. This involved coming up with ways of organising various groups of young people from different youth clubs and estates to work together in producing the monthly Youth Page in the local community newspaper, East End Life. As not all young people in these deprived areas were able or confident in expressing themselves with words, we advised the purchase of multimedia equipment for them. This included a laptop, digital camera, video camera and microphone on which training was given to staff as well as young people. With these tools the young people subsequently became teams of journalists, with members of the team recording interviews, and others transcribing the audio into written articles.
